IRIS Signs Contract with Trijay of USA for Supply of
Mobile Smart Terminals
KUALA LUMPUR, 14th February 2007 – IRIS Corporation Berhad (IRIS) has entered into an agreement with Trijay Technologies International Corporation (Trijay) of United States of America to supply highly secured mobile authentication and verification mobile terminals.
The contract valued at USD 8.8 million over a period of 24-months, involves the supply of IRIS’ mobile smart terminals, the ST4eX and ST4i. In the agreement, IRIS grants Trijay the exclusive right to promote and sell the ST4i model which supports the HID iCLASS contactless platform for 3 years.
The Windows.CE based ST4eX handheld reader is used for reading or verifying data in smart cards. The built-in Secure Access Module supports the use of digital keys for card schemes requiring high-security while the GSM/GPRS module provides mobility for high-speed data transfer and voice calls over mobile networks. The ST4i while maintaining the features of ST4eX handles iCLASS credentials from HID. The device can read/write to iCLASS-issue smart cards, read biometric fingerprint data, and enable validation of cards.
